Aulus Cornelius Celsus (ca 25 BC—ca 50), who lived in the first century AD, described plastic surgery of the face, using skin from other parts of the body.




Sir Archibald McIndoe CBE FRCS (4 May 1900 — 11 April 1960) was a pioneering New Zealand plastic surgeon who worked for the Royal Air Force during World War II. He greatly improved the treatment and rehabilitation of badly burned aircrew.


Jan 2014 CME Lecture

The first CME lecture of this year will be held on 23rd January 7-9pm at James Kung Meeting Room, 2/f Academy of Medicine Building, Wong Chuk Hang. There will be topic presentation on "The Development of Plastic Surgery in Hong Kong", journal review on "Autologous fat graft in scar management", and clinical management case discussion on "Reconstruction of upper lip and upper eyelid". The speakers are Dr. LK Lam, Dr. Richie Chan and Dr. CM Ho. The lecture is chaired by Dr. Gordon Ma and Dr. CM Ho.
