Aulus Cornelius Celsus (ca 25 BC—ca 50), who lived in the first century AD, described plastic surgery of the face, using skin from other parts of the body.




Sir Archibald McIndoe CBE FRCS (4 May 1900 — 11 April 1960) was a pioneering New Zealand plastic surgeon who worked for the Royal Air Force during World War II. He greatly improved the treatment and rehabilitation of badly burned aircrew.


Dec 2016 Cleft Surgery mission in HKU-Shenzhen Hospital

The Society will co-sponsor with Department of Surgery, HKU to run a Cleft Surgery mission in HKU-Shenzhen Hospital.

15th December Workshop + Patient screening + Follow up clinic
16th-17th December Opening Ceremony + Operation
18th morning December Operation + ward round
Patient number: 35-40

The mission is contemplated to be run twice a year at HKU-Shenzhen Hospital. The Society will be the co-sponsor.
